Backet mead is another name for Braggot mead.
The brewing of a mead which contains malt as a source of sugar. This gives the brew a resemblance to a honeyed ale.
A Bracket should however never be misunderstood as a honeyed ale, as the brewing process is that of both malt and honey. A honeyed ale, on the other hand, is ale which has after fermentation been flavored with honey to sweeten and add character to the brew.
